Use of Your Personal Information
The personal information collected on the Sites will be used to operate the Sites and to provide the service(s) or carry out the transaction(s) you have requested or authorized.
In support of these uses, AHPA may use personal information to provide you with more effective customer service, to improve the Sites and any related AHPA products or services, and to make the Sites easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information or by customizing the Sites to your particular preference or interests.
We may use your personal information to provide you with important information about the product or service that you are using, including critical updates and notifications. Unless you tell us not to, we may additionally send you information about other AHPA products and services and/or share information with AHPA partners so that they may send you information about their products and services.
The Sites are operated from the United States. If you are visiting the Sites from outside the U.S., you agree to any processing of any personal information you provide us according to this policy.
AHPA may contact you, by email or other means. For example, AHPA may send you promotional emails relating to AHPA or third parties AHPA feels you would be interested in, or communicate with you about your use of the Sites. AHPA may also use technology to alert us via a confirmation email when you open an email from us. If you do not want to receive email from AHPA, please opt out of receiving emails or contact AHPA at bsh@ahpa.org.
We may also use social buttons provided by services like Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and Facebook, and may add other such services at any time. Your use of these third party services is entirely optional. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of these third party services, and you are responsible for reading and understanding those third party services’ privacy policies. Also, we may discontinue our use of any such social buttons at any time at our sole discretion.
AHPA may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) carry out your own request ; (b) comply with legal process served on AHPA; (c) protect and defend the rights or property of AHPA; or (d) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of AHPA employees or agents, users of AHPA products or services, or members of the public; or (e) detect, prevent or address fraud, security or technical issues.
We may employ and contract with people and other entities that perform certain tasks on our behalf and who are under our control (“Agents”). We may need to share personal information with our Agents in order to provide products or services to you. Unless we tell you differently, our Agents do not have any right to use personal information or other information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us. You hereby consent to our sharing of personal information with our Agents.
We may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, user information is typically one of the transferred business assets. Moreover, if we, or substantially all of our assets, were acquired, or if we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. Adults Only
The Sites are not intended for use by minors. You must be at least thirteen (13) years of age to use our Service. By providing information to AHPA through any registration pages on any of the Sites, you represent that you are 13 years of age or older. If you are between the ages of thirteen (13) and seventeen (17), you agree to obtain parental permission prior to completing the registration process and utilizing the website services provided by AHPA.

AHPA does not control such other websites and is not responsible or liable for the availability thereof or the content, advertising, products or other materials contained in such sites. AHPA shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss incurred or suffered by any user in connection therewith. Your access and use of linked sites, included the content therein, is solely at your own risk.
Security
Protecting your information is important to us. We use the industry standard technology to protect the security of your information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be one hundred (100) percent secure. As a result, while we are committed to protecting your information, we cannot insure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or through us.
Accessing Your Information
If you want to review or remove personal information that you have provided to us or change your preferences, opt-out of communications from us, or opt-out of communications from third party marketers or business partners, please send an email to bsh@ahpa.org. Deleting your information or otherwise opting-out of receipt of communications from AHPA or third parties will delete the data only in our database for purposes of managing future communications from AHPA and third parties. These deletions will not delete information already collected that may have already been shared with third parties, all as provided above in this Privacy Policy. You will need to contact third parties that may contact you directly to delete your personal information that they may be using to contact you.
Changes to this Privacy Statement
We may update this privacy statement at any time. When we do, we will also revise the “last updated” date at the top of the privacy statement. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy statement to stay informed about our policies to protect the personal information we collect. Your continued use of the Sites constitutes your agreement to this privacy statement and any updates.
